BETSY COHEN IS THE founder, chairman and chief executive officer of RAIT Investment Trust. She has served as CEO of The Bancorp.com, Inc. (an internet bank) since July 2000. Prior to the merger of JeffBanks, Inc. with Hudson United Bancorp in December 1999, Cohen was chairman and CEO of JeffBanks since its inception in 1981 and also served as chairman and CEO of its subsidiaries. In 1969, Cohen co-founded a commercial law firm and served as a senior partner until 1984. In addition, Cohen is currently a director at Aetna, Inc. and The Maine Merchant Bank, LLC and is a trustee of Corporate Office Properties Trust (NYSE: OFC).

Cohen holds a J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and was the second female law professor on the East Coast.
