Charles D. Post Industry Pioneer, Charles D. Post, Dies

Charles D. Post, a central figure in the origin of the REIT industry and retired tax attorney at Goodwin Procter, died of pneumonia and heart failure on Dec. 30, 2004 at the age of 94. Post played an integral role in founding the National Association of Real Estate Investment Funds, Inc. (NAREIF) in 1960, which later became known as NAREIT (1972). He was the principal draftsman and negotiator for the 1960 REIT tax legislation and was also the founder of Goodwin Procter’s REIT practice.

Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE: EOP) named Elizabeth Coronelli senior vice president of investor relations. Coronelli succeeded Diane Morefield, who was promoted to senior vice president of the company’s Chicago region.

First Potomac Realty Trust (NYSE: FPO) named Joel F. Bonder senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Mike Hefley, chief operating officer at Gables Residential Trust (NYSE: GBP), announced he will resign once a successor has been identified.

iStar Financial, Inc. (NYSE: SFI) appointed Jay S. Nydick as president of the company.

Scott Rechler, president and chief executive officer for Reckson Associates Realty Corp. (NYSE: RA), was named chairman of the board, replacing Donald Rechler.

Trizec Properties, Inc. (NYSE: TRZ) appointed Brian K. Lipson as executive vice president and chief investment officer.
